Good News for once, the HMS Protector Association are now affiliated to TS Indomitable in Long Eaton, Derbyshire. They were presented with a Cup and Shield for the use of, together with individual penguin lapel badges. we also presented them with the "battle board" and "deck plate" from the Protector which they will be the custodians of until such times as either the unit disbands or we as an association disappear. The newly installed Mayor of Long Eaton has named this sea cadet unit as one of his charities for his year in office, so things look good. The pictures of this event are now up in the gallery and as you will see from the pictues one young cadet is handing a cap tally, which he had removed from his cap, to our chairman, this was a gift for Stan March, who served aboard the real Indomitable. Sadly due to holidays and sail training on the night of the presentation the cadet numbers were down, however quality and not quantity were in attendance. The bond between us is now cemented and we look forward to sharing in some of the units activities in the future. yours aye.
